About Glenn

Born in Toronto, Canada an only child Glenn Lewis grew up surrounded by music. His father played for a group named "Crack of Dawn" and his mother sang back up for the group. The music that his parents listened to while he was growing up has influenced his sound and style of singing today. The people that have influenced him musically include Donny Hataway, Stevie Wonder and Charlie Wilson which he calls the "Holy Trinity". It's no secret that Glenn has been compared to one of the 'Holy Trinity" Stevie Wonder. His voice undoubtably is very similar to Mr. Wonder but growing up Glenn said that when he heard a Stevie Wonder album he thought that he was listening to his father. Glenn not only has similarities to Stevie with his voice but he also appreciates Mr. Wonders strive to make a statement with his music. Although Glenn is new to the American scene he has been a successful artist in his native country for some time now. Glenn began writing his own music at the young age of fourteen and by the age of sixteen he was making his first demo. It is said that he loves the freedom of expression that writing his own music gives him. He wrote produced and sang his first single titled "The Thing To Do" both that single and his other single titled "Bout Your Love" were nominated for a Juno Award in the category of Best Soul/R&B Recording. The Juno Awards are the Canadian equivalent to the Grammy Awards. America is waiting for Glenn Lewis debut album titled "World Outside My Window" which is scheduled to be released sometime in March of 2002. His first single "Don't You Forget It" is in stores now and is also featured on the Red Star Sound Compilation also featuring such artist as Jill Scott which shows how he is already respected amongst the American R&B artist.
